Pray for Heritage Day at Camp Bethel on October 7.  Let us look forward with excitement and enthusiasm to the greater works of God that lie unrevealed in the future.

October 8, 2017 -

Pray for Jean Bednar, Director of Communications of the Brethren Benefit Trust in Elgin, Illinois. Let us pray with appreciation for those who work quietly and without notice, but whose work is necessary for the advancement of God’s reign.

October 15, 2017 -

Pray for Elizabeth D. Haley, a member of the Jesus Is Lord Assembly of Love in Roanoke, Virginia, who began as Food Services Coordinator at Camp Bethel on August 1, 2017.   Let us pray that the ministries of Camp Bethel will be enhanced and multiplied for the glory of God.

October 22, 2017 -

Pray for the ministry of the Green Hill Church in Salem, Virginia as they celebrate their one hundredth anniversary this morning. Let us honor the spiritual foundation given us by that great cloud of witnesses and work in our own generation for the properity of the church.

October 29, 2017 -

Pray for Brian W. Turpin, youth pastor of the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren at Alum Ridge, Virginia, who is scheduled to be commissioned to the ministry in November. Let us pray that we will support, encourage and pray for those who undertake set-apart ministerial service.

November 5, 2017 -

Pray for Timothy H. Emmons, moderator, and the 46th Virlina District Conference of the Church of the Brethren meeting at the Grandin Court Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia on November 10-11.  Let us pray that every decision affecting the mission and ministry of the church, from the smallest to the greatest, be the subject and result of earnest prayer.

November 12, 2017 -

Pray for Amy S. Gall Ritchie, Director of Student Development & Alumni Relations at Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana. Let us pray that God will lead us to hear the joys, concerns and experiences of persons near and far with a sympathizing ear.  

November 19, 2017 -

Pray for Mark A. Bolt, whose licensing is scheduled for November 26 at the Coulson Church of the Brethren in Woodlawn, Virginia.  Let us pray that we will support, encourage and pray for those who undertake set-apart ministerial service.

November 26, 2017-

Pray for the Virlina District Board Retreat on December 2 at Camp Bethel in Botetourt County, Virginia.  Let us pray that the Spirit of God will grant discernment, guide every decision and enable every undertaking.

December 3, 2017 -

Pray for the Roanoke, Iglesia Cristiana Renacer, newly recognized congregation of the Virlina District and her pastor, Daniel D’Oleo. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit will open our eyes to the diversity of our society and to our responsibility to reach out to all persons with the Gospel.

December 10, 2017 -

Pray for Bill Scheurer, Executive Director of On Earth Peace, in New Windsor, Maryland.   Let us remember that every person who serves the Body of Christ is important and that those parts which seem to be weaker are indispensible.

December 17, 2017 -

Pray for Gregory E. Fleshman, who will complete fifteen years of pastoral service with the Mount Union Church in Roanoke County, Virginia on December 31, 2017 and continues his faithful service. Let us give glory to God for the gifts of the Spirit bestowed upon the church.

December 24, 2017 -

Pray for every individual whose life is changed, endangered or lost by acts of violence, hatred and war.  Let us manifest acts of healing, compassion and reconciliation in our daily lives with all whom we encounter.

December 31, 2017 -

Pray for the mission and ministry of the Church of the Brethren; our members, congregations, fellowships, and mission organizations, during the coming year. Let us use all of our being and substance to witness to the fullness of God in Jesus Christ in the midst of the great challenges and wonderful opportunities which are before us!
