January 3, 2010 - Pray for the Lake Side Church, located near Moneta in
Bedford County, Virginia, as they celebrate their first worship service in their
own building. Let us pray that the ministries of our congregations, old and
new, will be enhanced and multiplied for the glory of God.
January 10,
2010 - Pray for Emma Jean Woodard, Associate District Executive, who
completed ten years of service to the Virlina District on December 31st. Let
us pray that the Lord of the Harvest will call and send out workers into mission
fields near and far.
January 17, 2010 - Pray for the Nominating and
Personnel Committee of District Conference as they pursue the calling process
for district leadership. Let us pray for the guidance and aid of the Holy
Spirit in discerning those called to leadership in the church.

24, 2010 - Pray for Andrew Shawn Tanner, pastor of the Green Hill Church of
the Brethren in Salem, Virginia, who will soon be ordained to the Gospel
Ministry. Let us pray that the Spirit of God might call forth more men and
women for the set-apart ministry.
January 31, 2010 - Pray for Steve
Lipinski, Manager of Brethren Foundation Operations for the Brethren Benefit
Trust in Elgin, Illinois. Let us remember that every person who serves the Body
of Christ is important, those parts which seem to be weaker are
indispensible.
February 7, 2010 - Pray for the Virlina District Board,
as it meets at the Red Hill Church for its winter meeting on February 13,
2010. Let us pray that the Spirit of God will grant discernment, guide every
decision and empower every undertaking.
February 14, 2010 - Pray for
the Virlina District Pastors and Spouses Retreat, and leader Joan L. Daggett, to
be held at the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center on February 19-20, 2010. Let us
pray that our leaders, our ministers and their families will be refreshed for
the work of Christ and the church!
February 21, 2010 - Pray for Tim
Clemons, maintenance manager at Camp Bethel. as he serves the church through
outdoor ministries. Let us pray that we might be refreshed and renewed by the
Spirit of God.
February 28, 2010 - Pray for the Bethel Church of the
Brethren near Arrington, Virginia and their pastor, Stanley Ogden, as they serve
together for the glory of God and the good of their community. Let us give
glory to God for the manifold gifts of the Spirit bestowed upon Christ's church.
March 7, 2010 - Pray for the Mission and Ministry Board of the Church
of the Brethren as it meets in Elgin, Illinois on March 13-15, 2010. Let us
uphold those who sacrificially serve with and for us in every
place.
March 14, 2010 - Pray for David Lee Jamison (member of Roanoke,
Central), Brethren Volunteer Service Worker in Hutchinson, Kansas. Let us hear
God's voice in the lessons which life teaches.
March 21, 2010 - Pray
for Pilgrimage XIV: A FaithQuest for Adults, a spiritual development retreat of
the Virlina District, to be held on March 26-28, 2010. Let us pray that God
will reward those who seek the divine will with deeper spirituality and greater
commitment.
March 28, 2010 - Pray for Steven Schweitzer, Academic
Dean, at Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana, as he challenges and
nurtures both current and future ministerial leaders. Let us look forward with
excitement and enthusiasm to the greater works of God that lie unrevealed in the
future.
